*Not currently taking new clients.* Individual, Couple & Family Therapy- Arizona in person or telehealth.
In the NARM approach, we work simultaneously with the physiology and the psychology of individuals who have experienced developmental trauma, and focus on the interplay between issues of identity and the capacity for connection and regulation.
Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms. Brainspotting is a simultaneous form of diagnosis and treatment, enhanced with Biolateral sound, which is deep, direct, and powerful yet focused and containing. I am a Level 2 trained BSP therapist.
Emily has multiple trainings geared toward couples work, and she has a unique style to encourage both relational connection as well as cultivating personal differentiation. Differentiation is the active, ongoing process of defining self, revealing self, clarifying boundaries, and managing the anxiety that comes from risking either greater intimacy or potential separation. Research shows that differentiation is key to healthy couple relationships.
Marriage & Family Therapists are trained in approaches informed by Family Systems Theory. The Family Systems Theory assumes that a family is understood best by examining the family as one whole system. This one system is a complex, deeply-connected changing collection of parts, subsystems and family members, where each member has a known purpose or function.
Currently in training.
